baseball glove?
ByMy boyfriend used to play baseball, and he needs a new glove, but I don’t know too much about baseball. I want to get him a nice glove, but what is a good kind to get him? He plays with his buddies, so something nice.It doesn’t matter how expensive it is, I’m just looking right now. What are your opinions for the best baseball glove? Thanks!

Mizuno makes the best to me. All of them are about the same. My glove is a Wilson and its held up good for 6 years now. My son has a Mizuno and its about 8 years old. Size is important, so make sure that you get him the right size. Id say a 13 inch glove. Mine is 11in. (im female..31 years old)

Rawlings if you’ve got the cash, but Louisville Sluggers are also really good.

The first thing to consider is whether he throws with his right or his left hand. The glove goes on the other one.
Then, there are a few other things to consider. For example, he probably doesn’t want a catcher’s mitt, but he might.
A pitcher’s glove doesn’t allow the ball to be seen when it is being held.
An infielder’s glove will be rather small, and an outfielder’s glove will be rather large.
A first baseman’s mitt is awesomely cool. Consider one of those.
Louisville Slugger is a fine brand, but there are others.

You can find good quality gloves made by several makers but you might make the gift extra special by finding out if he plays a particular position such as First Base, Catcher or Outfield most of the time. There are different gloves for each of these positions so maybe find out what he plays most often.
Also you might want to verify if he’s playing “baseball” (with a hardball) or “softball” (this ball is larger and yes, softer) if he plays softball most often you might want to get him a glove for that instead of a primary baseball glove. Although he could use the same glove for both, just the pockets are a little different.
Overall, you can’t go wrong with Mizuno, Rawlings or Wilson each have quality gloves in different price ranges. When you make the purchase I’d also recommend you get him some conditioner for the glove to help break it in. With this much info he’s going to think you’re the best G/F in the world…heh.
I personally have always used Wilson.
Good luck!

Former baseball players play softball, so a softball mit might be an option. If you’re not sure about it, just get him an outfielder’s mit so that it’s big enough for softball and baseball. It’s the best one just to play catch with. Find out what position he used to play and get him that position’s mit. The employees at the sporting goods store will know if you tell them.
