camera tripod?????????
ByI have a Casio Exilim digital camera and am planning to buy a big tripod. Since I am not familiar with this, I would like to know:
Does it matter what kind/brand etc..of tripod I buy? Meaning would my digital camera fit into any of them?

yes, you have a 1/4 screw connector which is standard on domestic tripods
very expensive pro tripods use 3/8 inch but you wont be buying on of those…
done get one too cheap, as you might as well buy one for the long haul,
about 60 bucks/30 uk pounds can get you something good enough
brands dont matter too much, check out your local camera store, get one tall enough to hold the camera at eye level too.

go to b&h (website) and order a tripod. measure your camera and find one you like and make sure your will fit in it.

Pretty much any tripod will work for you. Although I’m sure some cameras might take a 3/8″ fitting, the standard is 1/4″.
Your camera is fairly light, so most any tripods will hold it. I prefer whats called a “ball head”, but you will probably end up getting what’s called a “pan and tilt”, meaning that it has three knobs, one to adjust the angle of your camera in the horizontal plane, one for the vertical plane, and one that allows it to spin around the tripod. They are fine!
One thing you might look for is a detachable mount, one that allows you to easily take your camera off the tripod, instead of unscrewing every time, it make life a lot easier!
And a hook on the bottom to allow you to add some weight if it’s windy, and a bubble level are nice also!
