Can a washer/dryer combo be hooked up to water heater plumbing?
ByI live in a 600 sq foot condo. Am looking at a ventless washer/dryer combo. My problem is where I can hook it up to water? Can it go in the same closet as the water heater? Or would I have to redo plumbing and put in my bedroom closet?
Oh – also where would it drain…..?

You could get it hooked up to your water heater as long as its not to the main feed coming from the heater, the connecting pipes would be allright to tie into as far as I know.

Hello Jovi:
If it will fit into the water heater closet you can put it there. If you have a gas water heater, you will need to ensure that there is adequate ventilation for combustion air (usually outside air) and an exhaust fan as well.
You could tie the waste from the washer/dryer to your bathroom waste line, or the kitchen waste line. If either of these lines are close to your water heater closet, you should be OK. If not, you may have to re-think this project. Running water line is not difficult for a trained plumber. The new PEX product makes it quite easy, and PEX is rated for hot or cold water.
