Does the Saitek X45 flightstick/throttle set work with the PS3?

I noticed that it’s essentially the ACE-EDGE flight stick system used for the AceCombat 6 an AceCombat 5 bundles, just repackaged.

I doubt that it will since the PS3’s OS may not be designed to talk with the Saitek controllers, but it is worth asking if the PS3 and the X45 will work?
