Gas fireplace?

By Cut

What can I use, in a gas fireplace, to have it give a wood burning type fragrance?

Use a small tealight cermiac potpourri pot filled with smoker chips. Fill the pot with water and chips and light the tealight candle. Place the pot in the back of the fireplace out of the way of the gas burner assembly and go ahead and light your gas fire. The wood chips come in apple, cherry, mesquite, and others. Or make your own from dead tree branches in the yard! Break up the limb small enough to fit in the pot and add water. Your faux fireplace will smell like the real thing. Check out the link below for oils that can be placed on the faux logs too!

After you buy fake fragrance you can buy fake sound effects too. For the totally fake fire. I’d complete the ambiance with flicker flame candle bulbs and plastic fruit.
