Gas fireplace?

Use a small tealight cermiac potpourri pot filled with smoker chips. Fill the pot with water and chips and light the tealight candle. Place the pot in the back of the fireplace out of the way of the gas burner assembly and go ahead and light your gas fire. The wood chips come in apple, cherry, mesquite, and others. Or make your own from dead tree branches in the yard! Break up the limb small enough to fit in the pot and add water. Your faux fireplace will smell like the real thing.
