How can I do really cool hair to go with a cleopatra costume?

By Cut

I am going to be cleopatra for halloween, and i have shoulder-length light brown hair that is straight, and no bangs. I know she (cleopatra) has black hair with wide bangs, but i don’t want to dye it just for one day, and i don’t want to do a wig so people will still know its me, is their anything i can do to make it look more egyptian without totally changing my hairstyle and stuff?

Perfect! With your shoulder-length, light brown straight hair, you can make a fabulous head-piece. It will lay flat on your crown and have strands of gold beads that hang down to the bottom of your hair. There will be a band across your forehead that has horizontal beads. That can be made with a headband in a color to match your garments, or in a gold color as well. You can use a beanie-type item in a gold color to fasten the beads that you string. Or a hairnet in your natural color. To speed up the process you can purchase inexpensive strands of beads. Experiment with different sized beads. You do not want them to be too large. The effect will be stunning, as the beads will follow your natural hair movement and add sparkle. I know this is hard to explain, but look at some pix of Flappers from the Roarin’ 20’s. It is the same principal. Happy Halloweenie! Angel Wolf 13
