How can Valencia oranges be left to ripen on the tree for a whole year?
ByI heard a commercial for Valencia orange juice, and they said the oranges were left to ripen on the tree for a whole year. How is that possible??

In New Zealand where I live,my orange tree ripens in November(our Spring) and the fruit will last right till the next fruiting year.Mark you it’s pretty ripe by then. But oranges like a cold fruiting period, and can last for ages on the tree.
