How to fix an inkjet cartridge?

I have a Lexmark inkjet cartridge and it’s not printing magenta. I have already took the first cartridge back because it wouldn’t print blue. The second won’t print magenta. Is there anything else I can do without taking this cartridge back? It seems like all I need is to get the ink flowing somehow…
