To take it one step further, I make “plarn” out of plastic bags and then weave them into re-usable totes, mats, placemats, just about anything on a loom. The fabric woven out of plastic shopping bags is actually surprisingly very nice. check my channel if you need to know how to make plarn and then for a tote project where the handles are woven into the bag so that only the side and bottom need to be sewn.

the only reason all those plastic bags are in the dump is that people buy then 2 hold thier trash how else r u supposed 2 not get stuff on ur bin without a bag?
