Is it safe to use Crest Whitestrips 3 weeks before you get your braces on?
ByI’m getting my braces on, and I want my teeth to be as white as possible since I know it will be harder to brush my teeth once they are put on and they might not be as white. So, I was planning on starting the 10-day Crest Whitestrip package tomorrow, so it will be done by June 22. I’m getting my braces on July 12. Do you think it’s safe to have braces put on about 20 days after you use Crest Whitestrips?

If you are getting braces – why don’t you ask the dentist to whiten them..

Both my son and daughter had braces. I would wait until after you get your braces off then go to the dentists as mine did and have them zoomed whitened. I would be concerned that you could possible have a chemical reaction with the braces….You could ask your Orthodontist and I am certain he could tell you..

I think it would be a waste of money. he strips don’t work as well as the treatment the dentist will do for you. Get a professional whitening after your braces come off. Invest in a good sonic toothbrush before you get your braces on.

I worked for a dentist before and he did not recommend using the strips, I really don’t know the reason why but he did however told every patient that after the brackets were removed he highly recommended a 1 hour whitening session, and make sure that you don’t over due it the acid in the whitening treatments create little pores on your teeth that when you are old may cause problems.Good luck with your braces I hope your smile looks beautiful

It is safe,but i don’t see the point.You are whitening your teeth to be covered up with braces and the wire?Why not use a whitening tooth paste and mouthwash during,really brush and get your office cleanings done.Avoid anything that will stain your teeth.Such as coffee,tea,red wine and juices,colored sodas.When you are done with your braces,then use the strips.That way you’ll have straight and white teeth for the world to see.Honestly with braces on,no one can tell if your teeth are white or yellow.So there is no point.
