it´s not the only reason, it´s that maglite has the best quality of all flashlights, it can be run overed by semitrailers and it will still work after, like nothing happend, it dosent bend or anything… and they have very bright light and can be upgraded etc. Fire is the biggest enemy if it is put in for a longer time..
sorry bad english

i have 2 maglite flash lightes one is 2d cell and a 3 d cell maglite and the 3 cell is brighter than my 2d cell mag.

People who haven’t used many flashlights might bash on maglites because there are much brighter options nowdays…
but in my opinion maglites are just sleek and fun to use. And the larger mags are beasts and can double as a club. I know that’s why a lot of police carry them.

i know its going to be a little brighter as its using 3 batteries as opposed to 2 and the runtime i know is longer cause of the number of batteries ive got the 2d led maglite and i braught a led lenser police tech focus which is 1.25 watts compared to the 3 watts of the mag led and i was suprised at how the led lenser seemed to give off a brighter more uniformed beam maybe maglite should use better quality led’s as opposed to what there using now which i think is a luxeon but still good review

if you look at the description box, there is a review on the overall output, and it shows that the 3AA maglight has a significantly higher output compared to the 2AA maglight, and the 3AA has a significantly higher runtime, also i am to easily able to tell the difference from between the since I own both side to side beams. Thanks for watching and your input is quite appreciated

iff im not mistaken bot the 2aa led and 3aaa led both use a 3 watt led im finding it hard to beleive that one is brighter than the other when they both use the same led with the 3aa being able to take more voltage shouldnt make a difference but maybe give it a longer rutime i wouldnt imagine that one is brighter than the other when there both virtually the same.

I just got the LED 2AA maglite mini. For some odd reason, with fresh batteries, my runtime was only 2-3 hours!
