A long winded way of saying buy Nickel-metal hydride battery instead of standard Nickel-cadmium ones.

These have been out for MANY MANY YEARS. theres nothing special a
Sanyo “Eneloop” which is just a brand name for Nickel-metal hydride batteries.

These are not revolutionary in any way.

Actually Eneloops do not lose their charge when they are in storage to nearly the same extent that others do.

Also to say that any Ni MH battery is the same couldn’t be further from the truth.

All rechargeable batteries deliver less than the optimal 1.5V, but Eneloops are able to stay closer for longer than any other rechargeables that I’ve used including Duracell, Energizer, any many other Ni MH AA cells over the years.

yes, they are revolutionary. They have added a special wrap which allows the battery to hold it’s charge for a much longer length of time. Rather than standard NiMH rechargeables losing most of their charge in 6 weeks the eneloops can hold 75 percent of their charge for a year when not in use. This mean these batteries can now be used in clocks, remotes and other slow drain devices. The powerex Imedion can hold 85 percent of their charge after a year when not in use.
