Not so exact… Sometimes the dispatch can be for a sick or unconscious person inside a not wrecked car, or, not uncommon, some child that close himself inside. As the matter of facts is to doing the less possible damage at the car, the window removal works great: A window gasket cost about 5 or 10 euro (I live in Europe) a windshield are about 400-1000 euro. So why broken it when u can remove it fast?

I’m an EMT in Italy, (somewhat the same figure, here) I have got the rescue tool but I think it is best as a first intervention tool, useful just to access patient before fire services arrives and use Jaws or cutters. The seatbelt cutter is also great for cutting clothes.

I’d say you carry a pistol with you as well. In case the victim attacks you cause of the damage you caused to his car, you can shoot him/her with the pistol.

If someone is unconscious, he can’t communicate with U and U smash the window straight. If he can communicate, he can tell U in what state he is, and U have the 1 minute to tape the window to minimize injuries.
