Why does my computer start with no cpu fan, but while the cpu fan is unplugged it will start?

By Cut

I have recently been having some problems with my computer. First the fan sputtered and stopped working. I replaced the heatsink/fan and powered it on and it is still not working. When I unplug the CPU fan, the computer boots as it normally would. What is wrong with my PC?

maby your power supply is really bad/old and cant send to much to your fan… check how old and how many watts ur fan is.. if its 250(W) thats quite bad.. always aim for 300+ watts

Wierd. Get a new fan, cause if you don’t, the cpu could burn.
